A man found guilty of killing four members of a family was publicly executed in southern Iran today, the Iranian judiciary news agency Mizan reported, quoted by BTA.
"One of the perpetrators of the brutal murder of four members of a family in Bayram, Fars province, was publicly executed today," Mizan reported.
The convict, together with his wife, killed a mother and her three children in October last year, the Iranian judiciary news agency said.
The two were sentenced to death in February, with the sentence upheld by the Iranian Supreme Court in April, according to Iranian media. Mizan said his wife, who is in prison, will also be executed, but it was not announced when.
In Iran, murder and rape are punishable by death.
