Parents, relatives and friends of the young people who tragically died in the fire in the Pulse disco gathered in Kochani today, BGNES reported, quoted by NOVA.
The procession was marked by painful scenes, silence and tears. Parents carried photos of their deceased children.
One of the banners read a message filled with despair and anger: “The corrupt state stole our children. Corruption determined the place where we should celebrate their birthdays - in the cemeteries. They stole our dreams, cut short our future, and turned pain into an everyday reality. We want justice for our children, we want an end to corruption, we want the lives of young people not to end up as statistics.“
Another banner had a short but strong message: “My child died. He was killed by a system that does not protect, but kills.“
The words of Mita Taseva, the mother of the deceased DJ Stefan Tasevski, whose birthday was yesterday, were particularly emotional: “Today the sky echoes with your music, our son. Celebrate your birthday with the angels.“
The march ended in front of an improvised memorial, where under the photos of the deceased children was written: “We, the parents, paid the tax of corruption dearly.“
The fire at the “Pulse“ disco on March 16 took the lives of 62 people and left over 200 injured.
