Poland will no longer be able to pay for Starlink for Ukraine. The reason is President Karol Nawrocki's veto of the law on assistance to Ukrainians. This was announced by the Minister of Digitalization of Poland, Krzysztof Gawkowski, on his page on the social network X.
"The presidential veto acts blindly! Karol Nawrocki with his decision turns off the Internet in Ukraine, because de facto this means his decision on the law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine. This is the end of Starlink, which Poland provides to the warring Ukraine. This is also the end of support for storing the data of the Ukrainian administration in a safe place“, he wrote.
Gawkowski believes that this decision is a “gift“ to the Russian troops. He recalled that the Ukrainian military regularly uses Starlink.
"Mr. President, you must stop blindly attacking the government in the name of political struggle. You are harming people who are fighting for their independence, and at the same time helping Russia", Gawkowski addresses Nawrocki.
Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the law on assistance to Ukrainians living in the country. According to him, payments under the "800 Plus" program should be received only by those Ukrainians who undertake to work in Poland.
The Polish President emphasizes that he has proposed his own bill on this issue. He says that in this bill he has proposed new solutions for granting citizenship not only to citizens of Ukraine, but also to people from other countries.
