Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Turkey, the Gulf states or European countries could host talks with Russia, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.
"This week there will be contacts with Turkey, the Gulf states, with European countries that can become a platform for negotiations with the Russians", he said in his evening video address. On the part of Kiev, "everything will be prepared as best as possible to end the war".
"It is important for our partners to confirm this. And in the future, everything will depend only on the willingness of world leaders - first of all the United States - to put pressure on Russia, "Zelensky stressed.
According to him, new steps and additional pressure through sanctions and tariffs are needed to force Moscow to end the war. He noted that yesterday he had discussed the issue with the US President's special envoy, General Keith Kellogg.
"After our meeting in Washington, we have a new basis for joint work. This is important," Zelensky noted. At the same time, Russia is sending signals that show its unwillingness to engage in real negotiations, the Ukrainian president believes.
"This can only change with tough sanctions, tough tariffs - with real pressure," Zelensky emphasized.
