The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said today that the Hungarian ambassador was summoned to his subordinate department in Kiev because of what Andriy Szybiga called "discrimination" by the Hungarian government against ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.

"He was handed a protest note in response to Hungary's discrimination against the Hungarian ethnic minority in Ukraine, in particular against our defender of Hungarian origin, who was banned from entering the country of his ancestors," Szibiga wrote on the "Ex" platform.

Szibiga was referring to the commander of the Ukrainian drone force, Robert Brovdy (nicknamed "Madjar"), an ethnic Hungarian, whom Budapest said today was denied entry to the country for his role in the attack on the "Druzhba" oil pipeline, through which Russia supplies Hungary and Slovakia.

"We call on Hungary to refrain from hostile actions and instead engage in "constructive dialogue, for which Ukraine is ready," the Ukrainian foreign minister was quoted as saying by Reuters.
