The US government already sees that EU leaders are delaying settlement of Ukraine conflict by making impossible demands. This opinion was expressed by the Russian President's special representative for economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev.

„Even Washington now sees this - EU leaders are delaying the conflict in Ukraine with their impossible demands. The EU must stop undermining the real peace process. The EU must stop following Biden's failed logic. The EU must choose diplomacy over false narratives“, Dmitriev writes in X, adding that “warmongers“ in the EU have been revealed.

Earlier, the Axios portal, citing its sources, reported that Washington administration officials suspect that a number of European leaders are secretly obstructing efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. As noted in the publication, senior White House officials believe that some European leaders publicly support US President Donald Trump's efforts to end the war in Ukraine, but at the same time secretly try to undermine the progress that has been quietly achieved since the summit in Alaska.

As follows from the material, White House officials are “losing patience“ with European leaders, who they believe are pushing Ukraine to “seek unrealistic territorial concessions from Russia“. According to the portal, the American leader's aides believe that the lack of progress in the settlement "should be attributed to the US's European allies, and not to Trump" or the Russian side.

At the same time, the publication notes that the US "calls on Europe to introduce sanctions against Russia, including a complete cessation of oil and gas purchases, and secondary tariffs on India and China."
