According to Peskov, the “European party of war“ continues to hinder US and Russian efforts to stop the war in Ukraine. “We are ready to resolve the problem through political and diplomatic means. But at the moment we do not see reciprocity from Kiev in this regard. That's why we will continue the special military operation," he added.
European powers say they do not believe Putin wants peace in Ukraine. He has repeatedly said he is ready to discuss peace, but that Russia will not give up the territories it has seized in Ukraine.
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said earlier this week that the Russian army had accelerated the pace of its offensive in Ukraine, taking control of 600-700 square kilometers per month, compared with 300-400 at the beginning of the year.
