Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, Reuters and “CNN Turk“ reported.
The Russian president expressed his gratitude to Erdogan for the serious political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, Reuters reported.
At the same time, Erdogan invited Putin to visit Turkey, “CNN Turk“ noted.
The meeting was also attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Head of the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate Burhanettin Duran, Turkish Intelligence Chief MIT Ibrahim Kalin, Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Turkish Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kaçer, TRT Haber reported.
