China has decided to provide holders of ordinary Russian overseas passports with the opportunity to benefit from the visa-free regime, TASS and Xinhua reported, citing Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, BTA reports.

„In order to further promote mutual travel between citizens of the PRC and other countries, the Chinese side has decided to expand the range of countries whose citizens are entitled to visa-free entry. "A trial visa-free policy will be in effect for Russian citizens holding ordinary passports from September 15, 2025 to September 14, 2026," he said at a briefing.

Russians can visit China without visas for business, tourism, visiting relatives or friends, or exchanges for up to 30 days.

“Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Russia relations have maintained a high level of development,“ Guo stressed. “China attaches great importance to intensification of people-to-people contacts, supports strengthening of interaction between the two countries, and makes positive contributions to the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership and coordination between China and Russia in the new era,“.

“We welcome more and more Russian friends to visit China more often,“ he added.
