Explosions thundered in several cities in western Ukraine overnight, local media reported.
Explosions were reported in Kiev, Rivne, Kirovograd, Vyshhorod, Kolomyia, Lutsk, Lviv and Khmelnytskyi.
Russian strikes were also reported in Zhytomyr region.
All of Ukraine was on air alert last night after the Ukrainian Air Force warned of Russian missile and drone attacks, BTA reported.
Ukrainian air defenses have repelled a Russian air attack on Kiev, the city's military administration reported.
„Stay in cover until permission is given, it is clean!“, wrote on the social network “Telegram“ the head of the military administration of Kiev Timur Tkachenko.
Polish and allied aircraft were activated after the Russian strikes to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces reported, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
“The Russian Federation is again carrying out strikes on targets located on the territory of Ukraine“, the operational command said in a publication in “Ex“.
“To ensure the safety of Polish airspace, Polish and allied aircraft are operating intensively in our airspace, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems are on the highest level of readiness“, the message reads.
