A Canadian soldier who went missing in Latvia in early September while serving with a NATO multinational brigade aviation battalion has been found dead and an investigation into his death is underway, the Canadian Ministry of Defence announced.
The department said he was a technician with the 408th Tactical Helicopter Squadron and had been missing since Tuesday.
“The body of Petty Officer George Hall, a Canadian officer deployed as part of an operation in Latvia and who went missing on September 2, was found on September 5“, the ministry said in a statement posted on the Canadian government's website.
The statement added that Canadian police are working with Latvian law enforcement authorities to investigate the soldier's death.
