Orban: Ukraine will be divided between Russia and the West

The Hungarian Prime Minister has called for a reorganization of the European Union to prevent its collapse.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said during an event of the ruling party “FIDES - Hungarian Civic Union“ that as a state, Ukraine will be divided between Russia and the West as a result of the current conflict.

“Ukraine will be divided between Russia and the West and this is a reality that is now accepted by everyone“, Orbán said, and his words were quoted in X by Hungarian journalist Csaba Toth.

According to Orbán, it could be a question of dividing Ukraine into a Russian, Western and demilitarized zone.

He believes that it is necessary to conclude a security agreement between the European Union and Russia.

Orbán stressed that the disintegration of Ukraine does not meet the interests of Hungary and the EU, but the country's admission to the EU would not be a good solution to the accumulated problems. According to the Hungarian prime minister, a strategic partnership would be enough to develop relations between the EU and Ukraine.

Orbán called for a reorganization of the European Union to prevent its collapse.

The Hungarian prime minister added that between 2008 and 2025, a united Europe lost 7% of its share of the world market, while the United States gained 4%.

“This could be an inglorious end to the noble European project,“ Orbán added.
