Zakharova mocked Zelensky: Everything is fine, beautiful marquise...

With a refrain from an old song, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the Ukrainian president's statement to the American television channel ABC

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova responded to Vladimir Zelensky's statements on the Telegram channel with the words from the song “Everything is fine, Marquise“, performed by Leonid Utyosov.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine said in an interview with the American television channel ABC that he would define a victory for his country if its territory did not pass entirely under Russian control.

“Everything is fine, beautiful marquise, things are going well and life is easy, not a single sad surprise, except for one trifle... And otherwise, beautiful marquise, everything is fine, everything is fine“, Zakharova quoted the song.

The song about the marquise was written in French in 1935 by Paul Mizrachi in collaboration with several other composers and arrangers. Soon its text was translated into Russian by the poet Alexander Bezimensky, who offered it to the famous pop singer Leonid Utyosov. He performed it in a duet with his daughter Edith, and the song became widely known in the Soviet Union.
