Like July 2025, August 2025 was the third warmest August on Earth, taking into account the land surface and oceans, after August 2023 and August 2024, the program said in a statement.
August this year was 0.22 degrees warmer than the average temperature for the period 1850-1900. Celsius cooler than the record August months in 2023 and 2024, but 1.29 degrees above the August months of the pre-industrial era. And the 12-month period from September 2024 to August 2025 was 1.52 degrees warmer than the average temperature for the period 1850-1900, the statement said, also cited by DPA.
