American Nobel Prize winner in economics Joseph Stiglitz said that every agreement concluded with United States President Donald Trump is useless, the Italian news agency ANSA reported, quoted by BTA.
Stiglitz made this statement during a competitiveness forum held at the headquarters of the Assolombarda business association in Milan.
„I think every agreement with Trump is not worth the paper it's written on“, Stiglitz said in connection with the tariff deal between the EU and the US.
„He reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico during his first term, and on the first day of his second term he tore it up broke“, the economist recalled.
“They had reached an agreement, but it was only temporary“, he stressed. “So I think the agreement with Trump should be considered a temporary truce that will be broken when it suits him“, the Nobel laureate believes.
