US President Donald Trump faced protests while dining at a restaurant near the White House, CNN reported, quoted by News.bg.

When Trump entered the restaurant, a small group of protesters began chanting "Freedom for Washington" and "Freedom for Palestine," calling him the "Hitler of our time." Some restaurant patrons booed the protesters.

Trump responded: "We have a safe city, so that's good. Have a good time. They're not going to rob you when you go home." The protesters were later escorted out of the restaurant. The restaurant.

Before the dinner, Trump said that his administration's recent anti-crime measures had made Washington safer and hinted that they would soon be implemented in another city.

“We'll announce another city that we're going to very soon, we're considering it“, he said. He said that months ago he wouldn't have risked dining in Washington: “It was one of the most unsafe cities in the country. Now it's as safe as it gets in the country.“

The statement comes a month after the administration expanded federal control over police in Washington by deploying law enforcement and troops to the capital.
