Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened Ukraine, then made a surprising statement, Focus.de reports, citing DPA.

According to Putin, negotiations on the fate of Ukraine are possible, but not the only option. Russia can also achieve its goals by military means, he stressed. Russia continues to demand Ukraine's surrender.

Considering these threats by Putin, it is surprising that he then said he sees “light at the end of the tunnel“.

If common sense prevails, an acceptable end to the Ukrainian conflict can be achieved, said Putin, who praised the Donald Trump administration for conducting a dialogue with Moscow – unlike former US President Joe Biden.

Putin remains confident of a military victory over Ukraine. In Beijing, the Russian president stressed that Russian troops were advancing on the front. However, Putin denied that Russia had directly tied security guarantees for its neighbor to territorial demands.
