Ten people in management positions in the Turkish “Can Holding“, which also owns the leading Turkish media outlets “Show TV“ and “Habertürk“, “Bloomberg“, were detained in an operation by the Turkish Chief Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul, the online publication “Hurriyet“ reported, quoted by BTA.

The arrests are on charges of creating an organized crime group, fraud and money laundering. During the operation, 121 companies of the holding were sealed. The teams on site continue to carry out seizures and searches in the holding's office on Taksim Square in Istanbul, as well as in the cars and homes of the arrested.

The media owned by "Chan Holding" are not listed as opposition. A BTA check shows that the television stations continue to broadcast without interruption, and the "Habertürk" website continues to publish information. There is still no official comment from the holding on the operation.
