Trump vows to investigate Soros over protests against his administration

We will deal with unrest in the streets, the American president vows

US President Donald Trump has threatened in an interview with Fox News to investigate Hungarian-American financier and billionaire George Soros over protests in American cities.

“We will investigate Soros because I think this is a RICO case. These are more than protests. This is real agitation. These are unrest in the streets and we will deal with them“, he said.

According to Trump, there are “professional agitators“ in the United States who receive money from Soros.

Soros has been linked to organizing the change of power in a number of countries. The financier himself does not deny that his money helped to bring about the "Orange Revolution" in Ukraine in 2004 and the "Euromaidan" in 2013. In a number of countries he is accused of interfering in internal affairs. In the media, Soros is often associated with the Democratic Party of the United States. In Russia, Soros's "Open Society"* and "Open Society Foundation"* have been recognized as undesirable organizations since 2015.

Protests against Trump's policies began in many US states after the riots in Los Angeles on June 7, caused by an action by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the city center, where a large-scale operation to identify illegal immigrants was being conducted. Clashes with protesters erupted against the backdrop of reports of a possible reduction in federal funding for the state. The next day, the White House announced the deployment of National Guard troops to the city.
