The new electric crossover Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ is officially entering the European market. The electric model impresses with its dynamics, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and offering a range of up to 715 km on a single charge.
Sales of the electric car start in its homeland, Germany, on October 29, after which the model will gradually be introduced in other European countries. According to the automaker's official website, the starting price of the Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ is 71,825 euros.
The full name of the electric crossover is the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology. It will be sold alongside the previous-generation model, which retains its internal combustion engine. The GLC EQ will compete directly with models such as the Tesla Model Y, Audi Q6 e-tron, BMW iX3 and Porsche Macan.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ is larger than its predecessor, reaching a length of 4.84 meters, and is significantly more aerodynamic. Its design skillfully combines flowing lines with the wide false radiator grille, characteristic of the brand's electric range.
In the interior, the stretched display, which covers almost the entire width of the front panel, is impressive. The GLC EQ has become more spacious, with the volume of the main trunk ranging from 570 to 1740 liters. Additional convenience is the front luggage compartment (the so-called "frunk") with a capacity of 128 liters.
Even the basic equipment of the Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ is rich, including a panoramic roof, multi-zone air conditioning, a rearview camera, electrically adjustable seats, an electric tailgate and heated front seats.
The highest equipment level, Premium Plus, adds features such as memory for seat settings, a powerful Burmester audio system, ventilation and massage of the front seats, as well as heated rear seats.
Initially, the electric Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ is only available in a version with dual all-wheel drive, a power of 490 hp and a battery with a capacity of 94 kWh. In addition to the impressive acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and a range of 715 km, the model also offers fast charging: 300 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes at the corresponding fast charging station.
