The new Volkswagen now has an option that was previously only available in Rolls-Royce - 1

The Volkswagen brand is preparing a real interior revolution for the next generation of its flagship Atlas, occupying details that were previously reserved for ultra-luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce. The German giant has released a teaser that reveals a coupe, saturated with technology and premium appearance, prepared especially for the New York Auto Show next month.

The most impressive highlight of the new Volkswagen Atlas is the ambient lighting, type "starry sky", which envelops the dashboard and the space in front of the passenger. This visual effect is integrated around an additional display for the passenger next to the driver - a solution that emphasizes the brand's ambition to position itself in a higher market segment. The digital architecture includes a huge 15-inch central screen and a separate 11.6-inch monitor for passenger, all of which is topped off with a choice of 30 light colors, a built-in air aroma system, and seats with massage and ventilation functions.

Under the "skin" of the crossover, fundamental changes are also taking place. The new Atlas will ride on the modern MQB Evo platform, which promises better road behavior and higher efficiency. The drive will probably be entrusted to the latest iteration of the EA888 evo5 engine. Known from the new Tiguan, this unit generates 268 horsepower, but it is expected that for the needs of the more massive Atlas its power will be further optimized to offer more serious traction.

Although the technical details are close to those of the Chinese Teramont Pro model, the American version of the Atlas will debut as a 2027 model year. With this update, Volkswagen clearly states that it no longer wants to be just the "people's car", but aims to in customers who seek comfort and technological luxury typical of cars of a much higher price class.
