Toyota announced sales figures for the first quarter of 2024, and it was clear that the Prius hybrid was the star. The company's famous hybrid is more popular than ever: in the first three months of the year, its growth was 138.6%. A total of 13,327 units were sold compared to 5,586 units in 2023.

For comparison, sales of the all-electric model Toyota bZ4X for the same period reached 1,897 units, which is an increase of 11.7% year-on-year. Of its elite brother from Lexus - the RZ model, 1,603 cars were sold. During the quarter, Toyota sold around 3,500 electric cars.

Sales of the RAV4, Corolla and Corolla Cross, which are available as hybrids, also grew, as did the Camry, which saw an 18.6% year-over-year increase to 78,337 vehicles. The Tundra also showed good sales, which increased by 31% and amounted to 36,215 copies. And this car also has a hybrid configuration.

Overall, market trends show that hybrids remain very popular, and if the trend continues, Toyota could end the year with record sales.
