German automaker VW continues to release details on the new Volkswagen Transporter, which the company plans to officially unveil in the next few months. It is known that the novelty will be "much longer and wider".
Getting straight to the numbers, Volkswagen says the updated Transporter is 5,050mm long, 146mm longer than the current generation. Customers will also be able to get a variant with an extended wheelbase, the length of which reaches 5,450 mm.
In addition to being longer, the Transporter has also become wider by 128 mm. In addition, the cargo compartment is 61 mm longer than its predecessor. Thanks to the increased dimensions, the van can transport up to 5.8 cubic meters of equipment.
Other features worth mentioning are a turning radius of 11.8 meters and a maximum load capacity of up to 1.33 tonnes.
It is known that the new Transporter will be available in two-, three-, four-, five- and six-seat configurations, as well as van and station wagon versions. The prices of the new product will start from 36,780 euros.
The Volkswagen van will be available with a wide range of petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains. The diesel versions will have a power of 108 to 168 hp. Customers can also choose a hybrid with 230 horsepower and electric versions with power from 114 to 282 hp.
