Tesla has revealed the most powerful and fastest Model 3 Performance. This is the top version of the model, which stands out from the others with a more efficient powertrain, improved dynamics, a modified chassis, as well as a sportier exterior and interior design. The system peak power of the two electric motors has increased by almost a third, resulting in a faster acceleration of the electric car to 100 kilometers per hour.
Tesla Model 3 was updated last fall, but then the best and most powerful two-motor Performance modification was not shown. Her debut just happened. Externally, the Performance version differs from the others with its aerodynamic bodykit - splitter and diffuser, as well as a new rear spoiler. Tesla claims that as a result of the improvements, lift has been reduced by 36 percent and air resistance by five. The interior is equipped with seats with more developed lateral support and advanced electrical settings. Heating and ventilation functions are also promised.
As for improved performance, in addition to a 31 percent increase in peak system power, peak torque has been increased by 16 percent and continuous power by 22 percent. At the same time, energy consumption has been reduced by two percent. Two electric motors produce a total of 517 horsepower and 741 Nm of torque on the Model 3 Performance. From zero to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour), this electric car accelerates in 2.9 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor, and the top speed is 262 kilometers per hour. The declared mileage on a single charge according to the American EPA cycle is 476 kilometers.
The suspension has also been improved: lighter and stiffer springs are used, and the adaptive shock absorbers have three operating modes - Standard, Sport and Track. In addition, the Model 3 Performance received upgraded brakes and 20-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero 4 tires. Prices have already been announced: in the United States, the Tesla Model 3 Performance costs $53,000 without delivery to the dealership and tax credits.
