After hinting at the new Formentor and Leon a few days ago, Cupra has now officially revealed the two facelifted models, which arrive with several major updates to the interior, exterior and under the hood. The latest iterations of the Leon and Formentor boast updated matrix LED headlights adorned with distinctive triangular elements. Also new are the openings of the bumpers and the radiator grills to give a more aggressive behavior to the front part of the car. At the rear, an LED light strip with the iconic Cupra logo is one of the novelties, complemented by subtle triangular motifs for an even more distinctive look.
Entering the cabin of the Leon and Formentor, passengers are greeted by an all-new 12.9-inch infotainment screen prominently located in the center of the dashboard.
Customers can choose from a wide range of eight different powertrain options. The range is topped by the five-door variant of the Leon, which introduces a ninth option with a powerful 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine generating 300bhp. and delivering power to the front wheels. Meanwhile, the lineup starts with the base 1.5-liter TSI engine with 150 hp, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Further expanding the choice, the range includes variants powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine available in 204bhp configurations. or 265 hp, both of which are mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. A noteworthy addition to the list of dynamic features is the 333 hp version equipped with a DSG transmission and all-wheel drive, which represents an increase of 33 hp. compared to its predecessors.
In addition to these impressive petrol variants, the models are also available with a 1.5 TSI petrol engine with 150 hp, a 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 150 hp. and two plug-in hybrid variants based on the 1.5 TSI engine, offering power from 204 to 272 hp. Notably, these plug-in hybrid variants include a new battery with a capacity of 19.7 kWh, which allows a range of over 100 km and supports fast charging up to 50 kW.
