Hyundai is preparing two new cars for Europe - expensive and cheap - 1

The Korean car manufacturer will soon present a new car from the IONIQ family, as well as a model from the so-called entry level, which is expected to be quite cheap. In this way, the company plans to increase its influence on the electric vehicle market in the region.

As Electrek reports, despite talk of a “decline in the popularity of electric cars among buyers”, Hyundai is preparing two more new products: the new IONIQ and the budget Inster EV, which is expected to have a price below 25,000 euros.

The new Hyundai Inster is a compact electric car based on the Casper model sold domestically in Korea. The automaker says that the mileage of the novelty will be up to 255 km.

At the same time, the new IONIQ will be introduced later this year. Hyundai Europe boss Michael Cole didn't specify what the new IONIQ EV will be, but the larger IONIQ 9 has already been spotted by spies during tests, so it's highly likely that its official launch will take place soon.

Hyundai's management expects that, thanks to the new models, starting from 2025, the share of electric cars in the total number of cars sold will be 20%. For this year, however, according to Cole, the expected share is lower: “Our goal is for electric vehicle sales to be 14 percent of our total sales in Europe this year.“
