The BMW XM will be discontinued - 1

This SUV, known for its handling and luxurious interior, as well as its controversial design, will not receive a replacement after the end of its production. The information on this is on Automotive News.

It was initially planned that the XM would be replaced by an all-electric model, but it has now become clear that this will not happen. Production will end in November 2028, possibly due to poor sales.

The car's starting price exceeds $150,000, which is significantly more expensive than the X5 M Competition, although the XM accelerates from a standstill to a hundred more slowly. The same report also mentions the return of the BMW 6 Series, which will be available in both coupe and convertible versions.

It is assumed that the model will be available in gasoline, hybrid and fully electric versions. Production will begin in July 2026, which roughly coincides with the end of production of the 8 Series in mid-2026.

A dealer who spoke to the media on condition of anonymity said BMW does not expect mass sales of these cars, but believes it is important to have niche models to meet different customer needs.

The combination of SUVs and sports cars is part of BMW's strategy to offer a broad product line that meets different consumer preferences. While mainstream models provide the majority of sales, niche cars play an important role in attracting different segments of the market.

This confirms BMW's commitment to innovation and meets the demand for exceptional and unique cars. Thus, the future of the BMW range includes both the discontinuation of the XM and the revival of the 6 Series, reflecting strategic changes in the company's approach to the production and marketing of its cars.
