The popularity of crossovers continues to grow, respectively, this also happens in the second-hand market. In addition, potential customers increasingly prefer an automatic gearbox, so it is not surprising that a large number of off-road vehicles on the secondary market in our country are equipped with automatic transmissions. However, they are not always reliable.

Now we bring to your attention several crossovers that often have problems with their gearboxes. All models in the study are sold in the home market. Anti-rating is composed of the wheel equipment evaluation department of the Alfa-Leasing group of companies.

According to the exported figures, the most problematic is the automatic gearbox of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and more specifically, of specimens produced in the period 2000 - 2010. These cars very often have problems with the electronic transmission control unit. Also, the solenoids on this transmission stop working when the transmission oil is changed less regularly.

Next in the anti-rating is the Nissan X-Trail with a Jatco JF613E transmission, which is highly susceptible to wear, especially when driven aggressively. Specialists determine the cause of the damage to the transmission solenoids, which are the weakest point of the box. At the same time, in a relaxed driving mode, this automatic box can drive up to 250 thousand kilometers.

The third highly inadvisable automatic gearbox, according to experts, is that of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Specifically, it's an 09 M six-speed gearbox, which can be unreliable, but only with strict maintenance. In addition to these models, experts advise avoiding used Chevrolet and Opel models equipped with a 6T30 gearbox, as well as Nissan cars with a Jatco JR507E automatic gearbox.
