Production volumes of the new Volga, the production of which will be jointly produced by the Nizhny Novgorod automobile cluster together with a Chinese partner, will amount to about 100 thousand units per year.
This is reported by TASS with reference to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov. “They (the automobile cluster in Nizhny Novgorod) plan to produce about 100 thousand cars. This is the approximate volume, which can subsequently be increased”, said the minister.
I will remind you that in May of this year, three cars were presented at an exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod, which will be produced under the revived Volga brand. The range of the brand consists of the D-class sedan Volga C40 and two crossovers - the compact K30 and the mid-size K40.
Cars get an original front end design; chrome radiator grilles with vertical slats with emblems with the characteristic deer of the GAZ group. But these cars, like the new Muscovites, are based on three models from the Chinese automaker Changan.
This Chinese brand is represented in Russia by a fairly wide model range of 14 cars, but the sedan Changan Raeton Plus and the crossovers Oshan X5 Plus and Changan Uni-Z, which will be the donors of the new Volga, are not officially presented in Russia.
