Audi bets on hybrids with ICE - 1

Audi will increase the number of hybrid cars in its range. The management of the German brand made this decision due to the fact that the transition to full-fledged electric vehicles will take longer than originally planned. At the same time, the head of the brand, Gernot Döllner, said that in addition to hydrides, models with classic internal combustion engines and electric cars will roll off the production lines in the next ten years.

According to Audi management, the expansion of the range of hybrid models will make it easier for the brand's customers to switch to fully electric vehicles, gradually abandoning internal combustion engines. Gasoline-electric powertrains in combination with the new PPC platform will allow Audi's hybrid models to travel up to a hundred kilometers on electricity.

The newest CNG model in the Audi range in 2026 will be the new Q7 crossover. By 2033, the company plans to completely abandon classic fuel systems. According to experts, despite a slight decline in the popularity of battery-powered vehicles, in the next decade car manufacturers will be forced to switch to electric traction.

In February of last year, Toyota said that a full transition to electric vehicles is bad for the planet. At the time, experts said manufacturers needed to develop different types of powertrains, but it appears that internal combustion engines are still the best option at the moment.
