The compact crossover Skoda Karoq may get the sporty RS version of the brand. This became clear after a "test mule" got into the lenses of photo spies, which alludes to the aforementioned statement.
The test prototype is based on the current version of the Skoda Karoq, but even in Sportline configuration this car does not have the twin tailpipes (a pair on each side) seen on the car in the photo.
In addition, the test mule is equipped with 19-inch Machined R Sport alloy wheels, which are found in the Cupra Ateca range, and behind them you can see the sports brake system typical of the RS models.
Technologically, the Skoda Karoq RS is expected not to become an expensive project for the Czech brand, since the concern has not only the already mentioned Cupra Ateca, but also the Volkswagen T-Roc R. All of them are created on the MQB - A1 modular platform.
If the project does get the green light, a two-liter four-cylinder TSI gasoline engine is likely to be installed under the hood of this four-wheel drive crossover.
Its power can be 300 hp, and the maximum torque - 400 Nm. This engine will likely be mated to a 7-speed DSG robotic gearbox. So far, however, there is no official confirmation that Skoda is indeed working on a facelifted version of the Karoq.
