Lexus' future design language will be radically different from the previous one, and according to head of global design Simon Humphreys, the brand's customers want something distinctive from the brand's new electric vehicles.
The LF-ZC and LF-ZL concept cars are already giving the market the first indications of what to expect from the new production cars. “These two radical concepts will soon be followed by production models that will take Lexus into a new electrified future.
The new Lexus will be fundamentally different in shape from the brand's existing sedans and crossovers, thanks to new construction methods. Lexus will be able to expand its interior and make a choice in favor of a bold exterior, says Humphreys.
He also adds that future Lexus models are being created at a new Japanese design center and the brand's new direction will be as dramatic as the introduction of the spindle grille in 2011.
„The whole point of the Lexus brand from the beginning has always been to challenge what was considered the de facto standard of its time. It's important to think: "Is everything going to be okay?" But the challenge is the right thing “, concludes Humphreys.
