Chinese auto giant BYD raises annual sales plans almost to Ford level - 1

Chinese electric car maker BYD plans to sell 4 million vehicles this year, 11% more than previously planned. This is reported by Reuters.

So BYD is revising its plans by as much as 11% above the company's 2024 sales target that was announced at the beginning of the year. The Chinese say the target will put BYD almost on a par with Ford Motor, which ranks sixth in global sales in 2023 with 4.4 million vehicles sold.

BYD is expected to sell about 418,000 cars per month in the fourth quarter. Of these, more than 11% will be sold abroad as the company plans to double exports to 450,000 vehicles this year.

BYD aims to sell 3.6 million vehicles in 2024, which, if it happens, will be 20% more than last year's record sales. BYD attributes the additional sales growth to this year's launch of new models with the latest DM-i 5.0 hybrid technology.

Orders for such models, including the Qin L and Seal 06 DM-i, have reportedly exceeded BYD's production capacity. In May, BYD launched the fifth-generation DM-i 5.0 hybrid technology, which improves fuel economy and costs.

The second largest manufacturer of electric cars in the world after the American competitor Tesla announced a record low fuel consumption - 2.9 liters per 100 km, which can only be obtained with this technology.
