The appearance of the updated Renault Austral was revealed well before its premiere, because there are at least six months to the start of sales of the modernized crossover, and the exterior is no longer a secret due to the leak.

From the photos it can be seen that after the renewal, Renault Austral will lose its complex headlights with C-shaped sections of daytime running lights, and this is logical, because there is no place for such optics in the new corporate style of the French brand. It is also possible to revise the range of engines and improve the E-Tech hybrids.

The premiere of Renault Austral was in the spring of 2022, and the crossover went on sale at the end of the same year, so its modernization now can be said to be premature. It seems that the designers and engineers are trying to finalize the updated crossover with an eye on the Rafale model. The bumper and hood are designed in a similar style, and the V-shaped LED insert appears below the main headlight unit.

Despite the change in the appearance of the model, no technological revolutions are expected: Austral will keep electrified drives in the form of a light or self-charging hybrid. At the moment, the Renault crossover is equipped with 1.2 or 1.3-liter turbo engines in combination with a mechanical or variator transmission, and at the top of the range is the E-Tech version with the company's gearbox without a clutch and synchronizers. The battery hybrid with all-wheel drive is questionable.

According to unofficial data, the presentation of the Renault Austral will take place in the first quarter of 2025, and the model will reach European dealers no earlier than next spring. The crossover will continue to be produced in Spain alongside the Rafale and the revived Espace.
