The Alpine brand presented the electric fastback A390_β. Renault Groupe's subsidiary brand, known for its sports cars, has launched something highly uncharacteristic of it - a model called the A390_β, which is a five-door. The French call it a sports fastback and add that it is above all an Alpine ambassador. A390_β will enter serial production next year.

Currently the A390_β showcases the design of future Alpine-branded cars designed for everyday driving but capable of transforming into a “racing beast like the A110“ at the request of the owner. Inspiration for the creation of the innovation was drawn from the alpine peaks, as well as from the texture of various stones and minerals. The number 3 in the name refers to the dimensions of the new product, 90 to everyday cars (sports cars use an index of 10), and the Greek β shows the development status.

The concept gets a relief body without a central pillar with frameless doors. At the front, there is a scattering of triangular LEDs with the poetic name Cosmic Dust, and at the back, spectacular lights and a light bar impress. The snowflake-inspired wheels measure 22 inches at the front and 23 inches at the rear. According to Alpine, the production car will be 85 percent the same as the concept.

The futuristic interior features bucket seats and a sports steering wheel. To start the engines, you need to place a triangular crystal key in the center of the steering wheel. As for the powertrain, it consists of three engines: one on the front axle and two on the rear - one on each wheel. A390_β it also received the Active Torque Vectoring system.

Alpine didn't reveal any other details, but the electric car is expected to be based on the AmpR Medium platform - the renamed CMF-EV that underpins the Renault Megane E-Tech and Nissan Arya. In the new Alpine line, the A390 model will join the A290 hatchback. Later, the “green“ successor A110.
