In Shanghai, a non-standard concept named Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future was presented. The retro-looking SUV has been turned into a piece of art. Information about it appeared on the official website of Mercedes-Benz.
The unusual tuning of the "Gelendwagen" was carried out with the participation of stylists from fashion house Moncler and music producer and designer NIGO. It is based on the short wheelbase of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class cabriolet from the 1990s.
The fashionable SUV has been restored and refined. Its most original detail is a folding roof that looks like a down jacket. A gold container is mounted on the back. In addition, this "Gelendvagen" has increased clearance and off-road tires on steel rims.
The body of the modern Mercedes-Benz G-Class is painted in olive and gray colors, and the interior is decorated with checkered fabric. Another interesting thing is that the windshield of the car can also be removed.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future in question will remain in one copy, but it will be a prototype for the serial version of the same name, which will already be based on the modern G-Class. It will be produced in a limited series of 20 cars and will go on sale from spring 2025.
The serial Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future will look more restrained, but borrows original colors and interior decoration from the concept. The jeep has black rims. The model will be available with 3.0-liter turbo sixes - 449 horsepower gasoline and 367 horsepower diesel.
