During a recent meeting with investors, a Tesla representative spoke about the Model Q electric car, also known by the code name Redwood. The official report from the meeting revealed some of the main specifications of the car, its expected price and the approximate time of its appearance on the market.
It is already known that the Tesla Model Q will be 15% smaller and 30% lighter than the Tesla Model 3, which will reduce production costs. The expected retail price of the electric car will be around and below €25,000. This is important for competition with other models in the initial price segment of this class of electric cars.
The car will be available in two configurations with different capacities of the iron-phosphate battery (53 and 75 kWh) with an autonomous range of up to 500 km in the top version. Buyers will also be able to choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Model Q sales will begin in the first half of 2025.
According to industry analysts, the launch of the new product could provide global sales growth of the brand by 20 or even 30 percent on an annual basis. Production of the new electric car will begin at Tesla's factory in Texas, with possible expansion to other locations, including Europe.
