America's love for pickup trucks remains unchanged, and this is confirmed by the ranking of the most popular used cars in the United States (up to five years old), published by analysts iSeeCars.
The leader among cars up to five years old this year was the Ford F-150, which has been a bestseller in the US for 43 years. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500, which are also large pickups, occupy second and third places in the ranking, with the latter returning to the top three, overtaking the Chevrolet Equinox.
The ranking is also dominated by SUVs and all-terrain vehicles, which occupy 65 out of 100 places. The Chevrolet Equinox is the leader in the segment, while the Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue and Ford Explorer consolidate their positions in the top ten. Among passenger cars, the most successful remain the Toyota Camry and Honda Civic, which occupy fifth and tenth positions respectively.
Electric cars still cannot compete with gasoline and diesel models in popularity on the used car market. The best among them is the Tesla Model 3, which ranks 30th, while the Tesla Model Y ranks 74th.
These data, compiled from an analysis of more than 7.7 million vehicle sales between one and five years between 2019 and 2023, once again emphasize the stability of American preferences and the strong position of classic diesel models in the used car market.
