Turkish Airlines has reached an agreement with GE Aerospace to buy engines for 75 B787 aircraft, which it intends to purchase from Boeing, the airline announced on its official website.

In September, Turkish Airlines announced plans to buy 225 new aircraft, including 75 B787-9 and B787-10 models from Boeing, between 2029 and 2034. 50 units are firm orders, 25 are options.

Following the tender procedure, an agreement was reached with GE Aerospace for the purchase of engines, spare engines and engine maintenance services for B787-9 and B787-10 aircraft“, Turkish Airlines said in a statement. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Turkish Airlines previously said that with these contracts the company intends to fully transition to new generation aircraft by 2035.

By the beginning of 2025, Turkish Airlines' fleet will consist of nearly 500 aircraft, 56% of which are Airbus and 44% Boeing.
