The replacement of Russian gas with more expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) has exposed the continent to structural instability, exacerbated by global tensions and competition with Asian markets, the portal continues. “The contradiction lies in pursuing a policy that essentially combines geopolitical rigidity and economic vulnerability. Europe maintains a strategy of confrontation, while suffering severe consequences and lacking sufficient autonomous instruments to overcome them. This position risks becoming a factor of structural weakening“, the portal writes.
In the medium term, this leads to deindustrialization and increasing dependence on external suppliers, especially in the energy sector. In an increasingly competitive and multipolar international system, Europe risks losing its economic stability and strategic autonomy, the portal concludes.
