Part of those working on the Easter holidays will receive quadruple salary for their work, Andon Rokov, a lawyer from the "Podkrepa" Labor Association, told BNR.
According to the Labor Code, all four days off for Resurrection, which this year are from April 10 to 13, inclusive, are public holidays, BNR reminds.
For work during them, the employer owes at least a double increase. If the work done on these days is also overtime, it is also paid with another 100 percent increase, Rokov explained.
"Quadruple is true, yes. For example, if the wage is 50 leva per day, 200 leva must be paid", he pointed out.
Regarding overtime, the lawyer from the "Podkrepa" Labor Law Firm added:
"For those working irregular working hours or when working hours are calculated on a daily basis, work performed during official holidays, as well as on days off and days off, is always overtime".
"It is important to know that overtime is legally assigned by an order of the employer, with which the workers must be informed at least 24 hours before the start of its work. For those working on a schedule and when calculating working hours in aggregate, working on an official holiday is not overtime and their wages should only be increased by 100%, Andon Rokov said.
According to him, according to the Labor Code, when official holidays coincide with Saturday or Sunday, an additional day off is given.
However, this compensation does not apply to the Easter holidays, which are always from Friday to Monday.
