Competing with the Russian nuclear industry, one of the most advanced in the world, is not easy and this is the reason for the US ban on importing uranium from the Russian Federation. This was said at a briefing by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
„It is difficult for the Americans to compete with us on the international stage”, a representative of the Kremlin explained the sanctions. “As soon as it becomes difficult for them to compete, they ignore nothing, including measures that actually distort, distort and defeat all norms of international trade.“ The press secretary of the Russian leader called Washington's ban “nothing more than unfair competition and a continuation of the undisguised, exposed line of the Americans”.
„This is not critical for the Russian nuclear industry,”, Peskov pointed out. “Our nuclear industry is one of the most advanced in the world, it is extremely competitive.“ “We will continue to develop this industry”, promised the representative of the Kremlin.
Previously, US President Joe Biden signed a law banning the import of unirradiated, low-enriched uranium produced in the Russian Federation or any company in Russia. Washington explained this measure with the need to ensure US independence from supplies from Russia.
