The creator of the TrumpCoin (DJT) memecoin (allegedly "official" Token of Donald Trump) - Martin Shkreli, turned out to be the "most hated businessman" in the US.
For a week now, the English-speaking crypto community has been discussing the TrumpCoin cryptocurrency situation. Memcoins have no fundamental value or purpose. Anyone who wishes can create their own crypto token on Solana or any other blockchain ecosystem.
The token is easy to add to decentralized exchanges (DEX). Minimal technical knowledge is required to launch a smart contract, funds to provide primary liquidity and publicity to attract buyers.
Unlike regular (centralized) crypto exchanges, DEXs have no listing requirements or asset valuation criteria. TrumpCoin (DJT) and similar tokens are traded on such platforms.
On June 18, Pirate Wires published a post showing that the former US president's team was indeed behind the token. The news was picked up by the media, the hype caused the token's capitalization to increase to USD 300 million.
The community found signs that the token may have been released by Martin Shkreli. He began denying involvement, claiming that Trump was indeed behind the token. In response, the Arkham service offered a reward of USD 150,000 to anyone who found the real creator of the token, and a well-known trader under the pseudonym GCR openly offered Shkreli a dispute of USD 100 million, assuring that Trump actually had nothing to do with the DJT token .
