The Kazakh authorities have reached an agreement with Russia to partially lift restrictions on the export of meat and meat products from the republic, Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov announced after talks in Astana between the Prime Minister of the republic Olzhas Bektenov and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

„Due to the epizootic situation in Kazakhstan, the Russian side previously introduced restrictions on the import of meat products. Today we have reached an agreement with our Russian colleagues and have lifted this restriction in relation to the southern and southeastern regions. "We are currently working to lift restrictions on the entire territory of Kazakhstan," Sultanov said, quoted by the Kazakh government's press service.

The deputy minister noted that Kazakhstan intends to increase supplies of wheat and other agricultural products to European countries through Russian territory. "Grain will be exported to European markets through the territory of the Russian Federation, and supplies will be increased. For example, [deliveries] of durum wheat to Italian markets, as well as other agricultural products to European countries," he explained.
