Some key American companies want to return to the Russian market, said Robert Agee, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
„The companies that have left are from the IT and energy sectors. I recently spoke with some of them in the United States. Some of them are watching and waiting to see if there will be a meeting between the two presidents (Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump), which, I hope, will signal some warming of relations between the two countries. In that case, I believe that some companies will start to return.
Agey noted that the American manufacturers that have remained in Russia are very active and successful. He also suggested that in 2025, 1-2 large companies from the United States will return to the Russian market.
