Turkey does not have legal mechanisms that would allow it to cancel the “all inclusive“ format in hotels in the country. Only hoteliers themselves can make such a decision, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) announced.
The clarification comes against the backdrop of the news that appeared earlier in Daily Sabahthat Turkish authorities are discussing the possibility of replacing the traditional “buffet“ format in hotels and restaurants as part of the fight against food waste. The Agricultural and Food Policy Council of the Presidential Administration of Turkey is preparing a corresponding report to the head of the republic, Tayyip Erdogan.
ATOR noted that the news is based on statements in the Turkish press by one of the interested parties - the president of the public organization of restaurateurs. The Presidential Council on Food Policy does not have the authority to prohibit anything. “The news is nothing more than a media injection into the Turkish information field of some lobbying desires of restaurateurs who do not like “All inclusive“ in hotels because this system deprives them of customers“, the association emphasized.
