Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, Kazinform reports, citing Akorda.

Beijing attaches great importance to deepening the eternal comprehensive partnership between Kazakhstan and China. “China and Kazakhstan are strategic partners“, Chinese President Xi Jinping said, expressing gratitude for the participation of his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, Kazinform reports.

“Our second meeting in just two months has fully demonstrated the high level and unique nature of China-Kazakhstan relations. We have signed a number of important documents that have laid the foundation for China-Central Asian cooperation and opened a new chapter in the dialogue between China and Central Asian countries. We have also reached new strategic agreements in China-Kazakhstan relations, giving a new powerful impetus to bilateral contacts. China and Kazakhstan are strategic partners bound by mutual understanding and trust, regardless of how the international situation changes. Both sides have consistently adhered to the principles of good-neighborliness and friendship, openness and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as the common course of building a community with a shared future. "We are ready to support each other on issues affecting our fundamental interests and key issues, and constantly strengthen and expand all-round cooperation to bring China-Kazakhstan relations to a qualitatively new level," Xi Jinping said.

The talks discussed ways to strengthen trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties.

The importance of increasing trade turnover and implementing major investment projects in the fields of transport and logistics, energy, digitalization and artificial intelligence, as well as agriculture was emphasized.

The heads of state exchanged views on current issues on the regional and international agenda.

As previously reported, President Kassam-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Tianjin today to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. The head of state held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
