A model based on artificial intelligence will be used in Albania as an “minister of artificial intelligence“, responsible for public procurement. The model will be called Diella, the European publication Politico reported.
“Diela is the first member of the government who does not physically exist, but was virtually created with the help of artificial intelligence“, said Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
According to the prime minister, public procurement decisions will be transferred to an artificial intelligence model with the aim of creating a “100% uncorrupt“ public procurement system. The Diella model is already being used in the operation of the state digital platform e-Albania, which provides access to most government services.
Albania already has experience in using artificial intelligence in various fields. The technology is used in public procurement mechanisms, as well as in the process of tracking illegal urban construction and uncovering drug production in rural areas.
