The role of the United States as a global police and guardian of order seems to be running out. This was said by Konstantin Valkov in the program “In Focus with Lora Krumova” on NOVA.
Valkov commented on the reactions of Europe and the world to the downing of Russian drones over Poland.
“It all started with the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Five months later, Russia attacked Ukraine. A situation has already arisen in which it seems that everyone can do whatever they want – and this is happening because the role of the US as a global police for the last 70 years seems to have ended”, said Valkov. According to him, such cases can be interpreted not only as a demonstration of force, but something else is also visible – such strikes are uncontrollable.
„Every leader uses what he has. However, political speech is a big problem – and the new rhetoric allows for radicalization. And President Trump's reaction is also changing”, Valkov also pointed out.
„We see that nothing is as it seems. We see new attempts at political play, we see attempts for everyone to find their own personal balance – such problems are not easy to understand, viewed from above, and we do not know what they could lead to”, he also said.
„We see an attempt to appear by third, so to speak, players. Such entities test the limits in an attempt to understand how and for how long they can prevail in their own game”, added Christian Škvarek. According to him, such an example is China – with its intervention in the Middle East. "We are starting to enter a new vision of the world - it will not be like the conflicts of the 20th century. Russia's recent actions, for example, are a clear sign of this - and are being used as an attempt to test the enemy's reaction," he explained.
