There is not a particularly big chance that this vote of no confidence will win. Peevski at least admits his paternity, unlike Borisov, who stands on the sidelines and says “This is not my government“. The situation is tragicomic. This opinion was expressed on the air of BNT by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov.
Haralan Alexandrov, a social anthropologist, said: “This is a weak, comical and caricatured attempt. It is difficult for me to understand why it is being done. The biggest fear may arise around the war in Ukraine, especially if Bulgaria participates more actively.”
Cholakov has no doubt that Borisov can take Mitov's head: “This government has two masterminds - Peevski and Borisov, but no one is inside. When it turns out that the pie is rancid, they stand aside. However, people are not that stupid, the political responsibility will fall on their heads.”
”Ideologically, PP-DB has a problem because this government fulfills all their geopolitical desires. At the moment, their position is that it is not being done well enough, “give it to us, we will govern”. This is not just an irresponsible position, but largely self-incriminating”, emphasized Aleksandrov.
”As a citizen, it seems to me that the measures against Kotsev are excessively harsh. The court probably has serious reasons for this. The attempt to politicize a criminal case failed to mobilize much civic energy. But this looks ugly, as a liberal it bothers me“, he added.
According to Cholakov, the stakes are the presidential elections, before that the ruling coalition is unlikely to fall apart: “Radev is the common enemy. It is important who Radev will support as the new president.“
According to him, if Radev supports, for example, Yotova and this is a successful candidacy, this will also affect the success of his possible future political project.
